Sofaer Scholarships
The Sofaer International MBA program has dedicated funds available for need-based and merit-based scholarships. Applications for Sofaer scholarships must be submitted along with an applicant’s application for admission. All materials must be submitted by the applicant’s selected application deadline.

Merit Based Scholarships
The Sofaer International MBA awards Merit-Based Scholarships to outstanding applicants based on: professional history, academic excellence, and demonstrated qualities of leadership or innovation. There is no application for this scholarship. Those awarded a Merit-Based Scholarship will be notified by the Sofaer International MBA program along with their letter of acceptance.
Specialization Scholarships
Candidates with professional backgrounds in certain areas of specialization are eligible for a scholarship of up to USD $15,000. In order to apply for these scholarships, candidates must submit an additional application which includes a short essay.
Currently, these scholarships are awarded to candidates who have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Entrepreneurship – candidates who have started their own business or who are currently working for a start-up;
- Cleantech – candidates with experience in environmental science, green technology, and clean energy;
- Corporate Social Responsibility - candidates who have worked as a part of the CSR or community outreach department at their place of employment.

Women in Business Scholarships
The Women in Business Scholarship is granted to female applicants who have demonstrated leadership and accomplishment in their career. In addition to submitting a complete application for admission to the Sofaer International MBA, candidates applying for the Women in Business Scholarship are requested to submit an additional personal statement. Financial Needs-Based Scholarships
The group of need-based scholarships is primarily focused on emerging and developing markets, but does take into consideration all those who apply. Applicants wishing for financial assistance must submit a Financial Needs-Based Scholarship Application along with their application for admission to the program. Those awarded a Financial Needs-Based Scholarship will be notified by the Sofaer International MBA program along with their letter of acceptance. For a Financial Needs-Based application to be considered complete it must include:
- October and December 2011 bank statements. Applicants must submit statements from all accounts held by the applicant.
- 2011 tax receipt, proof of income or benefit letter (proof of financial assistance, such as unemployment benefits)
Note that the Sofaer International MBA reserves the right to request further financial documentation from applicants applying for a financial needs-based scholarship.
Tel Aviv University Loans
Israeli (having credit history in Israeli banks and receiving national services) Sofaer International MBA students are eligible for Tel Aviv University loans. Students can only receive the loans after they have officially become a student and have started classes in October.
Scholarships Offered by the Israeli Government to Foreign Students
The Government of Israel offers citizens of specific countries opportunities for financial scholarship towards academic studies in Israel.
Government Loans/Financial Aid from Your Home Country
We recommend that students check with their home country to see if they are eligible for federal student loans. Canadian and American students, for example, are eligible for Federal loans from their respective countries of residence. See details below:
United States
U.S. Federal Loans are available to qualifying degree-seeking students through Tel Aviv University’s Office of Academic Affairs in New York.
Canada
Canadian Federal loans are available to qualifying degree-seeking students through the Office of Academic Affairs in Toronto.

MASA Scholarships
The Sofaer program is affiliated withMASA Israel Journey. Applicants applying for MASA grants do so separately from their application for the Sofaer International MBA program. Applicants have to be accepted and enrolled in the Sofaer program to receive a grant from MASA.
New Immigrants to Israel
The Sofaer International MBA is recognized by the Minhal HaStudentim (Student Authority). New immigrants are eligible to receive up to 15% off their tuition. For further information please see www.studentsolim.gov.il
Investec Scholarship
In line with this development philosophy, Investec has embarked on an initiative to afford South Africans the opportunity to pursue an Investec-funded MBA at a leading international business school. Preference will be given to EE candidates. Further details
