MBA Cares – Final Presentations

Today participants of Sofaer’s MBA Cares course presented the results of their practicum projects. The Class of 2011 saw 16 students work long and hard on 4 projects throughout the 3rd and 4th module of the Sofaer International MBA.

The mission of Sofaer’s MBA Cares course is to enhance the social conscience of business and management students. Through theoretical foundation and direct project work, MBA Cares provides students the opportunity to learn how companies and organizations are approaching Corporate Social Responsibility, social enterprise, and sustainable operations.

The course’s 16 participants split up to work with 4 organizations on specific obstacles, issues or projects facing the organization. The projects included:

  • Consulting a local health clinic hoping to better serve their patients, recruit more doctors, and expand into under-served geographic locations.
  • Developing a strategy for an Israeli financial firm to encourage it’s portfolio companies to become more CR orientated.
  • Building an incentive structure for Israeli companies listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) to report their environmental impact and carbon footprint data.
  • Producing a business strategy in cooperation with a local Druze village to bring business back to the community and receive seed funding to open a local textile factory.
